First meeting of Newark’s UBI task force
JFI worked alongside the Economic Development Corporation to convene the task force meeting at which many Newark groups are represented. Those include, per Patch: “Newark Community Development Network, Advocates for Children of NJ, the Center for Law, Inequality, and Metropolitan Equity (CLiME), Newark Alliance and the Newark Community Economic Development Corporation,” and more. Read the Patch article here.
We’re excited to continue supporting task force discussions, and to see how a basic income pilot might work to address poverty in Newark.
