Arden Ali

Arden Ali is the Lead Researcher for Digital Ethics and Governance at JFI. In this role, he oversees research on the ethical and social implications of artificial intelligence and supports work to advance the responsible use of new technology. He primarily studies ethics and the philosophy of criminal law and has taught courses in environmental ethics, economic justice, theory of action, philosophy of law, and bioethics. In addition to his appointment at JFI, Arden is an assistant professor of philosophy at Clark University in Worcester, MA. Previously, he was a postdoctoral research fellow in the Interdisciplinary Ethics Institute at Northeastern University and a visiting lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Mount Holyoke College. He completed his PhD in philosophy at MIT and his BPhil in philosophy and political science at the University of Pittsburgh.
