Gernot Wagner, a JFI senior fellow, is a climate economist and senior lecturer at Columbia Business School. His research, writing, and teaching focus on climate risks and climate policy. He has written four books, most recently Geoengineering: the Gamble (2021). He holds a joint A.B. magna cum laude with highest honors in environmental science, public policy, and economics, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in political economy and government from Harvard, as well as an M.A. in economics from Stanford.
