Sara Franklin

Sara B. Franklin is a Research Fellow in Guaranteed Income at JFI. She is an independent writer and oral historian, and faculty at the Gallatin School of Individualized Study at New York University. She has a BA in history and community health from Tufts University, studied oral history at the Columbia Center for Oral History, and holds a PhD from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at NYU. Her writing has been supported by the National Endowment for the Humanities Public Scholars program, and her work has appeared in outlets including The New York Times, The Washington Post, The Nation, and Literary Hub. Her latest book, The Editor: How Legendary Editor Judith Jones Shaped Culture in America, will be published by Atria Books in May of 2024.
