Research Session with Maximilian Kasy

Max Kasy is an associate professor at the Harvard University Department of Economics. He presented at a JFI Friday research session, arguing that experimental research on basic income needs clarity on what we mean by basic income, why we might want one, and what we hope to learn from such experiments.

He then reviewed his research on optimal taxation (see here, and his research on adaptive experimental design (see here), laying out the building blocks for future research on the optimal design of basic income experiments.

His blog posts on these topics are available here and here; the slides from his talk at JFI are here.
