Robert Hartley
This Friday, we welcomed Robert Hartley to the JFI office to discuss his upcoming paper with Irv Garfinkel and Chris Wimer, “The poverty impact and distributional effects of alternative income guarantee designs: How much does the financing matter?”
The team modeled several guaranteed income options (varying magnitude and coverage) with several funding sources. The funding sources were shown to impact the effectiveness of GI at alleviating poverty.
This work is a valuable contribution to the discussion on cash transfers and UBI in the United States, and we are looking forward to its publication.
