SFI Model

In 2020, Robert Smith launched the Student Freedom Initiative, the largest ISA program in history by an order of magnitude. Beginning in 2021, SFI raised over $110 million of low-risk, flexible education financing for thousands of students at historically Black colleges and universities. SFI provides a financing option to HBCU students who are otherwise disproportionately suffering under the weight of student debt.
