This report is the first in a series from JFI’s Financing the Energy Transition initiative, pairing market analysis with levelized cost of energy modeling to give a high-level picture of the factors influencing the financing and bankability of green technologies.
If … challenges can be met, JFI modeling suggests that, even with existing reactor designs, greenfield nuclear power plants can be a competitive source of clean, firm power in the US, with costs in line with, or even below, the cost of intermittent renewables together with storage.
