Phenomenal World
Phenomenal World is a publication focused on political economy.
We aim to publish rigorous and innovative writing on economics, history, finance, policy, and politics. A publication of JFI, Phenomenal World explores political economy from a range of social scientific disciplines, and works with emerging and established scholars in and outside of JFI’s projects.
Phenomenal World is edited by Maya Adereth, Ratik Asokan, Tim Barker, Sanoja Bhaumik, Emma Fajgenbaum, and Jack Gross.
We welcome submissions and pitches on subjects in economics, history, politics, philosophy, sociology, economic history, and kindred fields. We have extremely wide-ranging interests, so please get in touch. Email editorial@jainfamilyinstitute.org with a few paragraphs on your idea and your background.

“The newsletter is eclectic and surprising in a way I’ve never encountered with an institutional roundup; it reads almost like some smart weirdo’s blog. You really cannot go wrong adding the Jain Family Institute’s newsletter to your media diet.”
Robin Sloan, writer
“A marvelous source of links.”
Steve Randy Waldman, writer & author of Interfluidity
“I’ve really enjoyed reading JFI’s publications and have been devouring the weekly roundups.”
Alexander Hertel-Fernandez, political scientist & author of State Capture
